Living in a Networked World
The internet is used for so many different purposes. Everything ranging from shopping to social interactions and gaming. One of the aspects of the internet that I find interesting is the way it remembers information. By that I mean you can look something up on amazon or google and then exit out of the application. Then when you return to another page on the internet you will see adds pertaining to the information you previously viewed. I understand that what you may have viewed on the internet is available to be retraced but I think it can still be seen as a kind of invasion of privacy.
When something is looked up on amazon or google or any shopping networked it may be remembered by your browser. Products may not even be added to you cart and they are still remembered and advertised to you. Even if you are on a website that does not have anything to do with these other products you previously viewed they may still be advertised. I just see them as a distraction. I was interested in this product before and no seeing things related to it being advertised right there is obviously going to catch my eye. If anything these are more of a benefit to the sellers than the buyers who are getting distracted on their computers.
